Polynesian Tattooing — Story Written in Flow
My approach to Polynesian tattooing is a contemporary expression rooted in tradition —
an evolution of ancient pattern and living art that moves with the body,
honouring both form and story.
Educated by traditional Tatau artists in the meanings and ancestral stories behind the patterns,
I’ve come to see this practice as more than design —
it is a visual language of identity, belonging, and transformation.
Each pattern holds memory, and when placed with intention,
it becomes a living map of your journey.

The Process
Your tattoo begins with your story.
You may come with a vision, a memory, or a transformation you wish to honour —
a time of change, an initiation, a milestone,
or simply an inner truth that seeks expression upon the skin.
Through conversation, I listen for the essence behind your words —
what wants to be remembered, celebrated, or released.
From there, I weave the appropriate patterns into a design
that symbolically represents your story
while flowing harmoniously with the structure and movement of your body.
Each line carries purpose,
each curve honours connection.
Together, they become an embodied reflection of who you are
and the journey that has shaped you.
If you feel the pull, reach out.
Together we’ll listen for the symbols that speak your truth
and let the design flow —
a reflection of your journey, anchored in meaning.
